University Ordinance No. 120 for bachelor of
computer application (BCA)
1.
The examination for the degree of
Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA)
shall consist of Part I, Part II and Part
III (Final).
2. A candidate who after passing
Higher Secondary examination (10+2) of a
Board of Higher Secondary Education with
Science/Commerce of a State in the Union of
India or any other examination recognised by
the Vishwavidyalaya as equivalent thereto,
and tended a regular course of study in an
affiliated college or in the Teaching
Department of the Vishwavidyalaya for one
academic year shall be eligible for
appearing at the BCA Part I examination.
3. A candidate who, after passing
the BCA Part I examination or equivalent to
it (the syllabus being
identical and of
the same standard)
conducted by the University
incorporated by law inforce and has
completed a regular course of
study for one academic year in an affiliated
College, or in the Teaching Department of
the Vishwavidyalaya shall be eligible for
appearing at the BCA Part II examination.
4. A candidate who has passed the
BCA Part II of Three Y.D.C. of the
Vishwavidyalaya or any other examination
equivalent to it (the syllabus being
identical and of the same
standard) conducted by any other
University incorporated by law inforce, and
has completed regular course of study for
one academic year in an affiliated College,
shall be admitted to the BCA Part III Final
examination.
5. Only regular students
and ex-students shall be eligible
for admission to the Examination.
6. Every candidate appearing at the
BCA examinations shall be examined in the
foundation course and such other papers as
prescribed by the Board of Studies of
Computer Science under the following Scheme:
BCA Part
I, II and III
1. Foundation
Course :
150 Marks
2. Eight Theory papers, 50 each
: 400 Marks
3. Two Practicals (including Viva),
50 each : 100 Marks
Note :
The student can opt the project in place of
paper VIII of BCA Part III.
7. In order to pass at any of the
three year degree course examination, an
examinee must obtain not less than 33
percent of the total marks in the foundation
course as well as in each of the theory
papers and practicals separately. Candidate
failing in foundation course or in any other
two papers in BCA Part I/II/III shall be
eligible to appear at the supplimentary
examination.
8. In determining the result of BCA
Part III(Final) examination, total marks
obtained by the examinee at their Part
I, Part II and Part III (final)
examinations in each subject and in the
aggregate shall be taken into
account. No division shall be assigned on
the result of BCA Part I and II
examinations.
9. Successful examinees at the BCA
Part III(Final) examination obtaining
60% or more marks shall be placed in then
First division, those obtaining less than
60% but not less than 45% marks
in the Second Division and other
successful examinees in the Third Division.
10. The BCA degree holder will be
eligible for higher studies (including post
graduate degree) at par with B.A.degree
of the University. Specifically, BCA degree
holder will be eligible for admission to all
Computer Science Courses provided they
fulfil other criteria.
11. In the matter of intake,
eligibility for admission to the examination
including attendance, examination fee
and other fees (including Tuition /
Lab. Fee), publication of merit list and
in other matters not provided for by
this Ordinance, shall be governed by the
provisions of the relevant Ordinances /
Regulations / Orders of the University,
save in so far as such provisions are
inconsistent with the express provisions of
this Ordinance.
HOW TO APPLY :
Application form can be obtained form office
of the Dean, Student Welfare,
A.P.S.University, Rewa on all working days
personally by giving University cash Receipt
or demand draft of Rs. 750/- for
Professional Courses and Rs. 500/- for other
courses or through post bu a D.D. adding Rs.
50/- for application form and entrance test
fee in favour of the Registrar , A.P.S.
University (M.P.) Outstation Concerned
desirous to get the application by post
should enclose a self addressed unstamped
envelop of 28*20 Cms. size. Application Form
can be also obtained by the concerned
college where the entrance examinaation is
being conducted, through demand draft only.
Demand draft will be in favour of
Registrar, A.P.S. University Rewa(M.P.).
For Admission to all courses except M.Phil.
course the completed application form must
reach either the Office of Dean, Student
Welfare, A.P.S. University, Rewa M.P. or
concerned Exam. Centres where the
entrance examination is being conducted, by
20.06.2008 For M.Phil. Course the completed
application form must reach the office of
the Dean Student Welfare, A.P.S.
University by 31.07.08
RESERVATION :
(1)
In the above Courses 15% seats are reserved
for Scheduled Cast, 18% for scheduled
tribes, 14% for other backward classes
(excluding creamy layer ) and 3% for
physically handicapped. The reservation
facility would be regulated by the
latest direction of M.P. Government.
(2)
Seats reserved for SC & ST are
interchangeable .
(3)
On the basis of percentage, if the numb er
of reserved seats , is less than 0.5 , there
will be no reservation.
(4)
If no candidates are available for the
reserved seats, these sears may be filled up
by the candidates belonging to general
category, on the basis of merit in the
entrance examination.
(5)
5% relaxation in qualifying marks to SC/ST
candidates.
WEIGHTAGE :
While deciding the merit list weightage
shell be give to the marks obtained by the
candidate in the qualifying examination.
Weightage shall not be given on to more then
one category. The weightage shall be to the
following :
(A) 'B' Certificate of N.C.C.
3%
(B) 'C' Certificate of N.C.C.
3%
(C) Those candidates who have
represented their groups in the N.C.C.
competitions at the state level.
3%
(D) Certificates of work-experience
in N.S.S. for 240 hrs.
3%
Special Incentives :
(A)
Candidates
possessing the minimum required
qualifications who have represented either
their region or country in recognised
sports events or cultural events or
candidates who have participated in the
Republic Day Parade at New Delhi in NSS or
NCC contingents may be given admission as a
special case on condition that the
certificates produced by the candidates are
issued by an association recognised at the
state level or a federation recognised at
the National level. The certificates for
cultural events should be those issued by
Nehru Youth Cente, New Delhi. In case the
recognition of the organizing body of the
sports event is doubtful. the decision of
the Director General. Sports and Youth
Wwlfare Directorate will be considered
finally.
(B)The top five sportsman representing the
state and satisfying the minimum
qualification conditions would be given
asmission as a special case. Only 2 seats in
all P.G. departments will be reserved for
such. Candidates. But these candidates will
have to take the entrance examination.
Special Concessions :
The following concessions are provided to
the kashmiri migrant student in the matter
of their admission in the
University/Colleges, during the academic
session 2005-2006----
(i) Extension in date of admission
by about 30 days.
(ii) Relaxation in cut off
percentage upto 10% subject to the minimum
eligibility requirements.
(iii) Increase in intake capacity
upto 5% course-wise.
(iv) Reservation of at least one
seat in merit quota in
technical/professional institutions.
(v) Waiving of domicile
requirements.
(vi) Facilitation of migration in
second and subsequent years.
0ther
Rules :
(1) A candidate will be admitted to the
University Teaching Departments or
Affiliated colleges only after he/she has
paid the required amount of fees.
(2) On the basis of admission list provided
by the University the Heads of the
departments or Principal of the concerned
college may admit the qualifying candidates
to their respecthive departments on their
own till 31st July, 2005 and til 14th
August, 2005 by the special permission of
the Vice-Chancellor.
(3) Candidates, who have failed in a P.G.
examination or have quit the institution
after being once admitted, will not be given
admission.
(4) If a candidate has qualified the 1st
Year or the final year of a postgraduate
class, he will not bfe granted admission to
any other coutse.
(5) The follwing candidates are not eligible
to apply :
(A) Those against whom UFM has been reported
in the University examination and if they
have not passed that particular examination
in which UFM was reported.
(B) Students against whom criminal cases
have been reported or students against whom
cases are pending in any court of law or a
case under rhe Examination Act, or if a
crimimal case is reported against a student
after his admission, his admission would be
liable to be cancelled.
(C) Those students who have caused
obstuctions in the conduct of the
examination or have used the force.
(D) A candidate who has been admitted
to an institution but has not taken any
exam., shall not be re-admitted as a regular
student.
(E) If the staff council of the
institution unamimously decide not to give
admission to a particular student. |
